Programme manager's role

A common attitude in the past has been that finance is just the accountant's job, but this view is not tenable. The programme manager is responsible for the financial integrity of the programme. It is the programme manager's responsibility to deter major fraud by putting in good basic systems and by personally making a few key checks. This need not be overwhelming.
