Know your bank
The cashier at a remote branch of the (only available) bank examined the clean dollar bills and declared them forgeries. In fact they were genuine new series notes that he'd never seen before. The cashier eventually decided to trust the programme manager, who was a foreigner, and changed the dollars into local currency; but he nearly didn't and if he hadn't the programme would not have had any cash.
