Funding grid
A funding grid allows you to compare funding from one or more donors with the budget. It will help you to identify where there are gaps and overlaps. Case study
Points to remember:
- Comparing total funding against total budget does not give the whole picture.
- There may still be gaps and overlaps on individual budget lines.
- Transfers from one budget line to another (Virements) may be allowed up to certain limits and under the conditions in each funding agreement.
- Virements beyond these limits will require prior permission of the appropriate donor. This may be refused.
Your head office may be responsible for preparing and maintaining the funding grid. However if you foresee over or underspending on any budget lines you are responsible for, you should tell the relevant person in head office.
